What Happens in an Hour at MAV?

You can get a lot done in an hour when you know what you're doing. That's part of what you're paying us for.

We plan the training before you get here. When you come to class, your coach explains the workout and what we're trying to get out of it. You'll warm up, practice the movements, and work out what weights and options make sense for you that day.

Some days include strength work. Some give us more time to practice a skill. Other days have a longer workout. The hour changes because the training has different jobs to do.

You still have to put in the effort. We want people who are willing to work hard and be coached. But you shouldn't have to walk in, search for a workout, and spend the next twenty minutes figuring out how to do it.

Coaching continues while you train. That might mean a correction to your setup, a different weight, or some help finding a pace you can hold. If you've trained for years, there's still plenty to work on. If you're new, we're here to teach you.

And you're doing it with a class. You get to know people. You have someone working next to you, someone to laugh with, and sometimes someone who makes you pick the bar up a little sooner than you planned.

We want that hour to be a part of your day you look forward to. Then you can get back to your family, work, and whatever else you've got going on. You can take your training seriously without spending all your free time at the gym.

If you're looking for a gym in Melbourne, come talk with us. Tell us about your experience and what you want out of training. We'll help you figure out where to start.
