What Are You Training For?

Tell us what you want to get out of training. It helps us coach you.

You might want to compete, learn a pull-up, or get stronger after a few years away from the gym. You might want to keep up with your kids without being worn out for the rest of the day.

Those goals give us somewhere to start. You don’t need to have the whole plan figured out before you walk in.

If you’re new to CrossFit, we’ll teach the movements and help you find an appropriate weight and pace. If you’ve been training for years, tell us where you’re getting stuck and what you’d like to improve. Having experience doesn’t mean you’ve stopped needing coaching.

Your training also has to fit your life. Work, family, sleep, and the other things you enjoy affect how much time and energy you can give the gym. Be honest with us about that. A plan you can keep doing is more useful than one that only works during a perfect week.

We want you to train hard and get better. We also want you to enjoy what that fitness lets you do outside MAV—take the hiking trip, play with your kids, try something you would have sat out before.

You can take training seriously without making it your whole identity.

That’s what we mean by Train hard. Live more.

If you’re looking for a gym in Melbourne, come talk with us. Tell us what you want to work toward, and we’ll help you get started.
